Frequently asked questions

Can I set up an appointment to visit your preschool ?
Of course! We would love for you to come and visit us so you have a chance to see what we do and how we do it. We are very proud of our facilities, our fantastic teachers and original curriculum. Appointments are available throughout the day, please feel free to contact us via our website, email us at info@kinderkids.ca or call us on (905) 855-1111
What are your ratios for each level ?
We have the following ratios in our schools and they are adhered to throughout the day:
■1 teacher for every 3 Infant children [with a maximum of 10 students per class]
■1 teacher for every 5 Toddler children [with a maximum of 10 students per class]
■1 teacher for every 8 Junior Preschool children [with a maximum of 16 students per class]
■1 teacher for every 8 Senior Preschool children [with a maximum of 16 students per class]
■1 teacher for every 13 Junior Kinder children [with a maximum of 16 students per class]
■1 teacher for every 13 Senior Kinder children [with a maximum of 16 students per class]
Are there any additional programs available ?
Included in our program are French, PE and Music. Music and PE are offered weekly. Our students also participate in yoga. Taekwondo classes will be taking place at the CFTP studio next door throughout the week for interested students aged 2.5 years and older.
Does my child have to come every day ?
Depending on their year level you can choose how many days a week your child comes to school.
Infant is a 5 day program.
Toddler, Junior Preschool and Senior Preschool can choose to come 2[Tues/Thurs], 3[Mon/Wed/Fri] or 5 days a week.
Junior and Senior Kinder class children are required to come 5 days a week so that they are able to get the maximum benefit out of our age specific, original curriculum.
Do you provide a Before and/or After school program ?
Our facility opens at 7am Monday through Friday. We close at 6pm however we do offer the option of extending your child' s stay until 7pm if this has been discussed with the Manager or Supervisor. We have chosen to provide the 'Extra Extended Hours' option to help parents who may not be able to collect their children before 6pm.
■The 'Before School' program runs from 7am-9am
■The 'After School' program runs from 3pm-6pm

We do not currently have space to run a standalone before and after school program for students not attending during our regular class hours (9am-3pm).
Are there any times in the year when you are closed ?
All classes are closed for public, statutory holidays and 2 staff professional Development days in the year. Other schedules may vary slightly according to the child' s year level. We will be closed over the winter holidays in December and January.
Are there scheduled nap times for all age groups ?
Ministry of Education mandate that there must be a scheduled rest period for Toddlers and Preschoolers. If children are unable to sleep, calm music and quiet activities are also provided to help the children to relax.
Our Junior and Senior Kinder classes also have a designated rest period (rather than a sleep period) after lunch when they undertake quiet activities if they choose not to take a nap.
These set rest/sleep times are part of the daily schedule as all classes run from 9.00am until 3pm.
Does Kinder Kids have a uniform ?
We believe school uniforms add to the identity of the school, create a sense of belonging for the students and add to the safety of the school environment.
Our staff also wear uniforms that match the students' uniforms.
Full uniforms are worn by JK/SK students. Preschoolers will wear the shirt, hat and backpack only.
Do you accept children with fee subsidy ?
Kinder Kids accepts children with fee subsidy.
