CURRICULUM

Kinder Complete

Once class time finishes, Junior Kinder and Senior Kinder long stay children join our exciting Kinder Complete afternoon program. Long stay children will enjoy snack time together, followed by one hour of outdoor free play to promote active, healthy minds and bodies. Afterwards, the children will enjoy an hour of fun activities from our Kinder Complete curriculum.

Japanese

In our weekly Japanese class, long stay children will enjoy learning to speak Japanese through songs, games, and dances. We also look forward to offering an introduction to writing the Japanese alphabet—hiragana and katakana—in the future.

Science

Our fun and age-appropriate science lessons engage children in hands-on activities and crafts designed to build student's curiosity and interest in the natural world. Children are introduced to the Scientific Method and encouraged to observe, hypothesize, experiment, and discuss the outcome of their work. We will offer this popular class on a bi-weekly basis.

Art and Crafts

Our Art and Crafts curriculum is designed to teach children to develop an appreciation for the process of making crafts and foster their pride in all parts of their art project. Children will use a variety of mediums to make works of art and will have plenty of interesting sensory opportunities as well!
This lesson will be offered on a bi-weekly basis.

Cooking

In addition to the monthly cooking lesson offered in class, long stay students will have the opportunity for extra cooking lessons in the afternoon. Our cooking class encourages children to enjoy preparing and eating healthy foods. We also find that students will often try new dishes if they have prepared them themselves! Kinder Complete cooking classes are offered on a bi-weekly basis.

Dramatic Play

Our Dramatic Play class encourages children to use their imaginations through participation in a variety of activities, while simultaneously building on their independent presentation skills. Students may take part in a mini-play based on a favorite storybook create a space adventure story with their friends, or make impromptu costumes with craft materials. This fun and creative class will be offered on a bi-weekly basis.

Free Play

In addition to the above activities, there will also be two weekly Free Play sessions to give the children further opportunities to independently explore areas of personal interest and further build social and problem-solving skills. During this time children may choose to play with toys, make a simple craft, work on puzzles, draw, and/or take part in other activities of their choice.
